Surprising Family Connection

Over the past 20 years I have been searching for my family ancestors there are times through my search I come across people that I would have never thought would be connected to my family. It happened once again last week. How could my family be connected to the Graham family?

I posted some photos on the Conway High School alumni site that were taken by my Dad back in the early 1950's. The Conway High School site is dedicated to those alumni who are deceased.

I found some negatives in my Dad's belongings (he passed away in 2006) and my first thought was how am I going to get these negatives developed? To my amazement Walmart was still developing film.

After getting the pictures back I found several of the photos were of my Dad when he was a teenager. The remaining pictures were of people I didn't know and of course I had no way of finding out who they were but I figured they must have gone to high school with my Dad.

So, I thought I would post them on the alumni site with hope someone might be able to identify those in the photos.  I figured they must have gone to high school with my Dad and in fact those in the photos did go to high school with my dad and I was contacted by their children.

During our conversation I not only found that our families were connected but we had connectins from more than one ancestor. I will only cover one at this time.

After a conversation with Sheri Richardson I found that her Great Uncle, Alva Graham (1866-1923) and his wife Susie Hucks Graham (1874-1925) had a daughter Minter Graham (1896-1942). Minter Graham married Jessie Holden (1890-1941) and they had a daughter Daisy Holden (1915-1978). Their daughter Daisy Holden married my Great Uncle Woodrow Manning Lawrimore (1915-1954).
As you can see you never know who your family may be connected with and this is why it's so important to know who's in your family tree.
